Summer

Wild Kids Magazine for August 2026

Happy August!

Wow, how summer is flying by!

Here is the August 2026 issue of Wild Kids Magazine.

In this month’s issue, we have an August foraging scavenger hunt, a roll-it nature walk game, Citizen Science projects that you can take part in now, and information on cacti with botanical coloring pages, along with all the usual ways to learn and play in nature, August nature photo prompts and a weather tree to record each day’s weather, nature poetry, nature study pages, a foraging record sheet and more.

This month’s issue is 20 pages. As always, it’s in PDF form so you can read it online, send it to your Kindle, or print it out.

And as always, the magazine is 100% ad-free and absolutely free for personal use.

A note to Facebook users:  Last week, Facebook abruptly deleted my personal Facebook account and all of my pages. I have lost 17 years of photos, memories, contacts and messages, along with all of the content on pages that I ran that had tens of thousands of followers. Family and friends have been trying to help me fix it, but links to contact a real person or dispute it are broken and we have been unable to do anything at all. I have about 20 days left before Facebook says it will all be deleted forever, and it looks like I’ll be unable to do anything to stop it. Searching online, this seems to be happening to many, many people and almost nobody has been able to recover their accounts.

I am obviously sad to lose so much. I won’t be starting new Facebook pages, either personally or professionally. Most of my posts were generally throttled because I didn’t pay to sponsor them (almost everything I do online is free, so I’m not going to pay advertising fees just so people can see it).  In recent years, the atmosphere on Facebook has been very negative for me, especially with recent news that roughly 40% of commenters are now believed to be bots. I did not spend much time on Facebook and I actually feel much happier being done with it, even though I obviously feel disconnected from friends and followers whom I loved connecting with. If you have a Facebook page, please take my advice and download your data in case this ever happens to you.

I used to share Wild Kids on my author page and other pages I managed, but I will no longer be able to do so. Please feel free to share the link to any folks you think might benefit.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled fun……

Have a wild and wonderful month!
