Alicia Bayer lives in Minnesota with her husband and five children. A former director of a rural domestic violence program, she gave up her salary and high stress job to become a full-time mother when her oldest child was a year old. She and her family live very frugally in a home they purchased for $2,000, and manage to live very well on very little by embracing old-time skills like foraging, gardening, preserving, cooking from scratch and hard-core frugal creativity.
Alicia’s writing has been widely published in books, magazines, newspapers and online. She maintained national columns on the topics of homeschooling, parenting and sustainable living for many years and has maintained the nonprofit website, A Magical Childhood, for nearly 20 years. She is passionate about these topics and passing them on to help others.
