{"id":852,"date":"2010-06-07T21:03:45","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T21:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=852"},"modified":"2010-06-07T21:03:45","modified_gmt":"2010-06-07T21:03:45","slug":"six-nifties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/07\/six-nifties\/","title":{"rendered":"Six Nifties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Here&#8217;s some of what&#8217;s been filling up my browser windows lately&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_8Hhana8fLAM\/TAgvYiwz0oI\/AAAAAAAALxk\/QwMbZyBopj0\/s1600\/4667062997_5ca78a395e_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"141\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\">1. <a href=\"http:\/\/meetmeatmikes.blogspot.com\/2010\/06\/envelope-project-join-in.html\">Meet Me At Mike&#8217;s<\/a> has started a fun little envelope project that anybody (child or adult) can take part in.\u00a0 Send in a pretty little decorated envelope with something small inside (Artist Trading Cards, a photo, candy wrappers, ribbon, anything!) and at the end of the project one name will be drawn from all those who contributed to get ALL of the loot.\u00a0 The envelopes will also be displayed in their window in Australia, so this would be fun even without the chance to get some pretty fantastic crafting supplies and doo-dads!<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#339966;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Organic Gal has compiled a really thorough list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenoptions.com\/forum\/thread\/121\/my-list-of-fakers-and-not-fakers\">&#8220;Fakers and Not Fakers&#8221;<\/a><\/strong> <strong>&#8212; companies that claim to be natural or organic and may or may not be as healthy as they seem.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">3. Now that you know which brands to look for, get some of them free at Saffron Rouge (more info <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-23788-Mankato-Attachment-Parenting-Examiner~y2010m5d28-Get-organic-bath-and-baby-products-free-plus-shipping\">here<\/a>).\u00a0 I got my order in today and it was a great way to try some heavenly smelling, safe bath products for nearly free!<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800080;\"><strong>4.\u00a0 Magical Mama Pamela recommended these darling little sea creatures you can make from free patterns at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futuregirl.com\/craft_blog\/2007\/11\/supercute-sea-creature-patterns.aspx\">Futuregirl&#8217;s<\/a> blog.\u00a0 They look adorable!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.futuregirl.com\/craft_blog\/images\/2007-11\/supercutepreview.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"376\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#993300;\">5. I&#8217;m in love with lots on <a href=\"http:\/\/littleecofootprints.typepad.com\/little_eco_footprints\/2010\/06\/from-under-the-bbq-shrooms-grow.html\">this post<\/a> from Little Eco Footprints.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been wanting to grow mushrooms with the kids for quite a while and didn&#8217;t know there was such an economic way to do it (though I don&#8217;t know how hard it would be to find a mushroom farm close enough to us) and also love the looks of her mushroom rissoles.\u00a0 They look like the insides of stuffed mushrooms.\u00a0 Mmmm!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><strong>6.\u00a0 Happy To Be Called Mommy has published a tutorial on how to make <a href=\"http:\/\/bethany.preciousinfants.com\/2008\/02\/05\/homemade-wikki-stix.aspx\">homemade Wiki sticks<\/a>.\u00a0 What fun!\u00a0 One of the commenters noted that one of the ingredients may not be good for little ones so perhaps a little experimentation is in order with beeswax or other more natural ingredients.\u00a0 They look beautiful and those with a great yarn stash could make some gorgeous ones!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/37967-35154\/wikistix.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And with that, I&#8217;m off to find free German resources for a 12-year-old bent on learning the language.\u00a0 Tschuss!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s some of what&#8217;s been filling up my browser windows lately&#8230; 1.
