\nI didn’t make the bed,
\nI took his hand and followed
\nWhere his eager footsteps led.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nMy little son and I,
\nExploring all the great outdoors
\nBeneath the summer sky.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nWe wandered through a wood.
\nMy kitchen wasn’t swept today,
\nBut life was sweet and good.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nAnd now my small son knows
\nHow Mother Bunny hides her nest
\nWhere fern and larkspur grow.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nWe climbed a sunlit hill,
\nSaw cloud-sheep scamper through the sky;
\nWe plucked a daffodil.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nThat I didn’t sweep the stair,
\nIn twenty years no one on earth
\nWill know or even care.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
\nTo noble manhood grow,
\nIn twenty years the whole wide world
\nMay look and see and know.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
