{"id":562,"date":"2010-03-05T22:40:03","date_gmt":"2010-03-05T22:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=562"},"modified":"2010-03-05T22:40:03","modified_gmt":"2010-03-05T22:40:03","slug":"thank-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/05\/thank-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">Many of you know that I write a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/x-23788-Mankato-Attachment-Parenting-Examiner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">parenting column<\/a> and have been writing about abuse issues lately.\u00a0 I have been receiving many angry comments on those articles from parents who believe that the only way to raise good children is to use violence to &#8220;train&#8221; them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">But this post is not about them.\u00a0 This post is about you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">It has been hard during the past couple of weeks to deal with all of this nastiness &#8212; to read the heartbreaking advice of the Pearls, to get the hateful comments, to imagine the lives of the children being raised this way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">What has helped me again and again is to focus on you, and I wanted to thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">For wanting to raise not just good children, but happy ones.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">For teaching with your words and your example.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#008000;\">For knowing that parenthood means sometimes having messy houses and noisy kids.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#e11dcd;\">For being human and trying again when you&#8217;re less than perfect (and we all are!).<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\">For cherishing childhood and imagination.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">For doing crafts.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#339966;\">For playing make believe.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#ff9900;\">For giving hugs, advice and second chances.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">For letting kids be kids.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#d12ed1;\">For having houses full of laughter and love.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">For having empathy and kindness.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color:#008000;\">For bringing more goodness into the world.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">I am so uplifted by all of the fabulous mothers and fathers I&#8217;ve met through this blog, on the net and in my life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">I love the way you love your children.\u00a0 I love your spirits.\u00a0 I love reading your comments and knowing that you&#8217;re raising a generation of children who feel loved and happy and want to make the world a brighter place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\">Thank you.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many of you know that I write a parenting column and have been writing about abuse issues lately.\u00a0 I have been receiving many angry comments on those articles from parents who believe that the only way to raise good children is to use violence to &#8220;train&#8221; them.
