{"id":49,"date":"2009-04-04T13:10:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-04T13:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/04\/weekend-assignment\/"},"modified":"2009-04-04T13:10:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-04T13:10:00","slug":"weekend-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/04\/weekend-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Assignment!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size:16px;\">I am without internet access for a while until we get router issues worked out. &nbsp;I hope to be back soon but in the meantime here&#8217;s a weekend assignment for anybody who wants to join in. &nbsp;\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Please do at least one of the following. &nbsp;Extra credit for doing lots!<\/p>\n<p>If you have small children&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lie on the floor and say dramatically, &quot;oh no, I&#8217;m on the floor, I hope nobody climbs on me and tickles me!&quot;. &nbsp;Allow yourself to be climbed, tickled and bounced upon unmercifully.<\/li>\n<li>Play a rigorous round of &quot;I&#8217;m going to get you&quot; and playfully chase your little one(s) around. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Do a messy craft together. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Put some ketchup on end side of a ziplock bag and mustard in the other. &nbsp;Seal well and let your little one smoosh it, mix it and &quot;write&quot; in it (smooth it flat on a surface and then draw with your finger through the bag).<\/li>\n<li>Give your child at least 20 kisses, 10 hugs and 15 &quot;I love you&#8217;s&quot; by the end of the day.<\/li>\n<li>Give each child a piggyback ride.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on being particularly loving, silly and empathetic today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have big children&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Play a game together<\/li>\n<li>Watch a fun family movie together<\/li>\n<li>Take your child out for a one-on-one dessert date and just sit and visit<\/li>\n<li>Act like a goofball for no reason at random moments, just to be silly. &nbsp;Older kids don&#8217;t get nearly enough silliness sometimes.<\/li>\n<li>Go for a walk, hike or bike ride together.<\/li>\n<li>Surprise the kids with a sweet treat, just because.<\/li>\n<li>Give them hugs and tell them how much you love them.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on being particularly loving, silly and empathetic today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And for yourself&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take breaks for just plain fun stuff.<\/li>\n<li>Laugh as much as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Treat yourself in little ways.<\/li>\n<li>Nicely ask other people to do 3 things you&#8217;d have to do otherwise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have a good weekend! &nbsp;Make it magical!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am without internet access for a while until we get router issues worked out. &nbsp;I hope to be back soon but in the meantime here&#8217;s a weekend assignment for anybody who wants to join in. &nbsp;\ud83d\ude42 Please do at least one of the following. &nbsp;Extra credit for doing lots!
