{"id":324,"date":"2009-12-24T03:26:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-24T03:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/2009\/12\/24\/an-old-fashioned-christmas\/"},"modified":"2009-12-24T03:26:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-24T03:26:00","slug":"an-old-fashioned-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/24\/an-old-fashioned-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"An Old Fashioned Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align:center;\"><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><span style=\"color:rgb(0,0,128);\"><strong>Today is the day we usually dress up in our fanciest clothes<br \/>and head to Great Grandma Lueck&#8217;s house<br \/>to see extended family we&#8217;ve missed all year<br \/>and eat too much wonderful food<br \/>and get a belly ache from cookies and candy.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, we spend the night at Grandma &amp; Grandpa&#8217;s<br \/>and come down Christmas morning<br \/>for cookies and fruit soup<br \/>and then open presents.<\/p>\n<p>We are expecting somewhere around a foot of snow<br \/>and some ice<br \/>so we will not be doing the usual.<br \/>We&#8217;ll be home for Christmas<br \/>without presents<br \/>(we had our family celebration already on the solstice<br \/>and opened our family presents then).<br \/>Luckily Santa can get through with his one present for each child<br \/>and I think we&#8217;ll fill the stockings with old fashioned treats<br \/>like oranges and handmade toys.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll watch the snow and drink cocoa<br \/>and play games and play Christmas music<br \/>and read Christmas stories<br \/>and be together<br \/>and I think it sounds like <br \/>a perfect Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be back online in a day or two.<br \/>Merry Christmas<br \/>or for those who celebrate other things<br \/>Happy Thursday and Friday!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the day we usually dress up in our fanciest clothesand head to Great Grandma Lueck&#8217;s houseto see extended family we&#8217;ve missed all yearand eat too much wonderful foodand get a belly ache from cookies and candy.
