{"id":2801,"date":"2019-11-04T22:49:43","date_gmt":"2019-11-04T22:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=2801"},"modified":"2019-11-04T22:49:43","modified_gmt":"2019-11-04T22:49:43","slug":"10-ways-to-make-today-magical-143","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/04\/10-ways-to-make-today-magical-143\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Ways to Make Today Magical"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color:#666699;\">Happy Monday!\u00a0 <\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color:#666699;\">Long time, no see, I know!\u00a0 How about we make a little magic this week?\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#666699;\"><em>Note:\u00a0 I started this post early Monday morning but I have a sick little girl today so I am just now finishing it.\u00a0 Lucky for me, it&#8217;s still Monday so I&#8217;m still good.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09 <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#666699;\">Here are ten little ways to make a little magic with your kiddos this week&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800080;\"><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\"><strong>1.<\/strong> <strong>Leave some painted rocks in nature for folks to stumble upon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2810\" src=\"https:\/\/magicalchildhood.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona.jpg\" alt=\"painted rock fiona\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona.jpg 1440w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona-300x240.jpg 300w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona-1024x818.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona-768x613.jpg 768w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/painted-rock-fiona-1200x958.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Give the kids some paint pens or labels and pens, and let them alter some of your spice bottles with magical or crazy names.\u00a0 <\/strong>Basil can become fairy grass or peppercorns can become eye of newt.\u00a0 Let the kids\u2019 imaginations run wild!\u00a0 We did this a few years ago and it was so fun to open the cupboards and find our renamed containers!\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808000;\"><strong>3.\u00a0 Make a wreath for the door together. <\/strong>It can be made of anything \u2014 grapevine wreaths decorated with ornaments and ribbon, pine boughs wired in a circle with a big bow, or simple colored paper hand prints.\u00a0 Do it together and hang it proudly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">4.\u00a0 <strong>Head outside for a nature scavenger hunt.\u00a0 <\/strong>If you like, make it an alphabet hunt and try to find items that start with each letter of the alphabet (like wooly bear caterpillar for W).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2808 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/magicalchildhood.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/11\/5156395983_4f897a8ef4.jpg\" alt=\"5156395983_4f897a8ef4\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/5156395983_4f897a8ef4.jpg 375w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/5156395983_4f897a8ef4-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#333399;\"><strong>5.\u00a0 Give little ones laundry basket rides in the kitchen or down the hallway.\u00a0 <\/strong>Put a pillow in the bottom, plop a child in and then push, pull and spin it around to your little one\u2019s delight.\u00a0 You can thread a jump rope or scarf through some holes or the handle to make it easier to pull.\u00a0 Kids can give each other rides too (and the pulling is great exercise to expend some of that extra energy!).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008080;\"><strong>6. Learn a song together and film yourselves singing it (as flamboyantly as possible!). <\/strong>Send the clip to loved ones and spread some smiles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\">7.\u00a0 Make <a style=\"color:#ff00ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/2011\/11\/17\/painted-soap-clouds\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Painted Soap Clouds<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2809 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/magicalchildhood.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/11\/soap.jpg\" alt=\"soap\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/soap.jpg 500w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/soap-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><strong>8.\u00a0 Go gather some pine cones (or whatever is similar in your part of the world) and bring them home to craft with them.\u00a0 <\/strong>Cover them with glue, glitter, sequins and multicolored paint to display them all over the house and as ornaments.\u00a0 Nothing is more fun to your average small child than getting to make gluey, glittery, multi-colored messes!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#9113b0;\"><strong>9. Leave silly notes in hiding places all over the house. <\/strong>It may take months for somebody to stumble on all of them, but it\u2019s a wonderful way to break up an ordinary day to suddenly stumble on a note that says \u201cMama loves you\u201d or \u201cKisses!\u00a0 You must come give your grandma 18 kisses immediately upon finding this!\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\"><strong>10.
