{"id":26,"date":"2009-03-15T20:32:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-15T20:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/15\/st-patricks-day-fun\/"},"modified":"2009-03-15T20:32:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-15T20:32:00","slug":"st-patricks-day-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/15\/st-patricks-day-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"St. Patrick&#8217;s Day Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"Arial\"><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">It&#8217;s almost time for the wearing of the green!<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b> <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\"><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">Here are some ideas on how to mark the day&#8230;<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b>  <\/font><\/p>\n<ul><font face=\"Arial\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">Challenge the kids to help you make (and eat) an all green meal.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">Search the house for green papers of all sorts (flyers, parts of magazine pages, bits of labels, etc.) and cut them into shapes.&nbsp; Cut a piece of construction paper or cardboard into a large shamrock shape and have the kids use a paintbrush with watered down white glue to decoupage it with the green papers.&nbsp; The more variety of scraps you can find, the better.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">Use green eye shadow to give everybody fun &quot;leprechaun cheeks.&quot;&nbsp; Just brush on green circles on the apples of their cheeks.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">&nbsp;Cut circles and thin rectangles from green construction paper and let little ones glue them into shamrock shapes on paper (3 or 4 circles make the clover, the rectangle makes the stem).<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">Cook an Irish meal together.&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irelandseye.com\/aarticles\/culture\/recipes\/index.shtm\">This site<\/a> has lots of tasty sounded recipes.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">It&#8217;s so much bother to clean, but it&#8217;s not much trouble at all to only clean the green things.&nbsp; Go through the house together in search of only green items to pretty up.&nbsp; Polish, dust, arrange, put away and generally pamper any object you find with a bit of green on it.&nbsp; Challenge the children to find the funniest, tiniest or most green things to clean.&nbsp; <\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><font face=\"Georgia\"><font color=\"#00cc00\"><font size=\"+1\">And here&#8217;s a little leprochaun song to sing together&#8230;<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/b>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><span style=\"color:rgb(0,204,51);\"><span style=\"font-size:large;\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\"><br \/>Sung to &quot;I&#8217;m a Little Teapot&quot;<\/font> <\/font><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><span style=\"color:rgb(0,204,51);\"><span style=\"font-size:large;\"><font face=\"Arial\"><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">I&#8217;m a little leprechaun<\/font><\/b> <br \/><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">Dressed in green,<\/font><\/b> <br \/><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">The tiniest man<\/font><\/b> <br \/><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">That you have ever seen.<\/font><\/b> <br \/><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">If you ever catch me, so it&#8217;s told,<\/font><\/b> <br \/><b><font face=\"Times New Roman,Times\">I&#8217;ll give you my pot of gold.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/b><\/font><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            <\/font><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s almost time for the wearing of the green!
