{"id":255,"date":"2009-10-13T22:52:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-13T22:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/2009\/10\/13\/a-less-than-disney-day\/"},"modified":"2009-10-13T22:52:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-13T22:52:00","slug":"a-less-than-disney-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/13\/a-less-than-disney-day\/","title":{"rendered":"A Less Than Disney Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:rgb(0,0,128);\"><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong>Today was one of those days.&nbsp; The kids were in such dreary moods that it was as if they had been drugged.&nbsp; And not in one of those fall-asleep-on-the-couch ways, either.&nbsp; They were supernaturally grumpy.&nbsp; Egads.&nbsp; And it was contagious.<\/p>\n<p>I wish I could say that I dressed us all in costumes and we danced down the streets with musical instruments to chase away our blues.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Not even close.<\/p>\n<p>I tried.&nbsp; I got us milkshakes and tried to be perky.&nbsp; I tried to be comforting.&nbsp; I tried to empathize.&nbsp; And then I went and took a bath and had a wine cooler and watched junky TV.<\/p>\n<p>Some days will never be Disney.&nbsp; Disney is overrated.&nbsp; Some days the best you can hope for is bedtime coming and an occasional break.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s always tomorrow for costumes and musical parades.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:rgb(255,0,0);\"><em><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3207\/4009915373_ea8714a003.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was one of those days.&nbsp; The kids were in such dreary moods that it was as if they had been drugged.&nbsp; And not in one of those fall-asleep-on-the-couch ways, either.&nbsp; They were supernaturally grumpy.&nbsp; Egads.&nbsp; And it was contagious.
