{"id":2192,"date":"2013-04-15T15:33:43","date_gmt":"2013-04-15T15:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=2192"},"modified":"2013-04-15T15:33:43","modified_gmt":"2013-04-15T15:33:43","slug":"10-ways-to-make-today-magical-124","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2013\/04\/15\/10-ways-to-make-today-magical-124\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Ways to Make Today Magical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\"><strong><em>Happy Monday!\u00a0 Looking to make some fun and easy memories with your little (or big) ones this week?\u00a0 Here\u2019s a few ideas, lifted from April of 2010\u2026..<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#808000;\">1.\u00a0 Go walking in the rain.\u00a0 Or the drizzle, if your rain dance doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0<\/span> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\";)\" src=\"http:\/\/s1.wp.com\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_wink.gif?m=1129645325g\" \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/04\/rain.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2194\" alt=\"10 Ways to Make today Magical\" src=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/04\/rain.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/rain.jpg 500w, http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/rain-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color:#808000;\">(We currently have snow outside instead of rain, but I&#8217;m telling myself that it can&#8217;t possibly last forever!)<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Visit the humane society and volunteer to brush cats, exercise kittens and take dogs for walks.\u00a0 They\u2019re generally happy to have extra help and the animals love the attention.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\"><strong>3.\u00a0 Decide on a totally silly word or saying to say when you answer the phone.\u00a0 A friend of ours absentmindedly answered the phone recently with \u201cThree!\u201d and the kids and I found it so hilarious we vowed to do the same.\u00a0 Hint:\u00a0 caller ID makes this much easier to do without too much harm or embarrassment.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008000;\"><strong>4.\u00a0 Go off the beaten path, literally, and explore somewhere you\u2019ve never been before.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4039\/4553518498_7a9db3c82d.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800080;\"><strong>5.\u00a0 Play an old fashioned game with your kids like marbles, hopscotch or jacks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008080;\"><strong>6.\u00a0 Grab a pack of colorful sidewalk chalk and head out to make the world more cheerful.\u00a0 Have the kids leave happy faces, sweet notes, rainbows, silly cat faces, flowers, goofy aliens, you name it, in various places just to make people smile.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><strong>7.\u00a0 Play mud tag.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2635\/4552877733_762ce1fc1b.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#333399;\">8.\u00a0 Get a DVD of a favorite TV series from your childhood from Netflix or the library and watch it with your kids.\u00a0 Prepare to feel old and cheesy.\u00a0<\/span> <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\";)\" src=\"http:\/\/s1.wp.com\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_wink.gif?m=1129645325g\" \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff9900;\"><strong>9.\u00a0 Plant a row of sunflowers and see if you can get them to grow taller than the kids.\u00a0 Even better, see if you can get them to grow taller than you!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0aa31f;\"><strong>10.
