Get out paint pens or permanent markers and let your child decorate an old pair of shoes or rain boots.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">3. Start a &#8220;Mom and me&#8221; (or Dad or Grandma and me!) scrapbook. Find or make a blank book. Do some pages every week together about the two of you. For instance, write notes to each other (be sure to date them!) or find a picture of yourself at your child&#8217;s age and make side by side pages comparing yourselves. At age 8, what were each of your favorite books, hobbies, colors, friends, wishes?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008000;\">4. Head outside and make bunches of magic wands or altered sticks.\u00a0 Just find sticks and peel, carve, paint and\/or otherwise personalize them until they feel right.\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3598\/3367236350_68ebaf8811_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"156\" height=\"240\" \/> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3627\/3366412755_2b63bacf7e_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"240\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><span style=\"color:#800080;\">5. Send or deliver a box full of balloons to a child you love.\u00a0 Fill each balloon with a little love note, joke, dollar or other treat.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/choosecraftiness.blogspot.com\/2012\/01\/birthday-balloons.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#800080;\">She&#8217;s Crafty<\/span><\/a> came up with the idea to send her nephew 20 $1 bills in balloons for his birthday, but I also think it would be great fun with other things besides just cash, and to do it &#8220;just because&#8221; for a child (or two or three!) who could use a fun surprise.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cdn.pinterest.com\/upload\/14425661276377511_MePaiUbR_f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"398\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#008000;\">6. Find a park you&#8217;ve never been to and go play together.\u00a0 Bring friends, if possible!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3550\/3372136346_5b6f47c64a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">7. Find something junky in the house and let your child alter it. One of the advantages of having old, unloveable furniture or belongings is that you have nothing to lose with this sort of project!\u00a0 Let kiddos use paint pens on the old wooden chair in the basement or permanent markers on the inside of a beat up dresser (make sure it doesn&#8217;t come off on clothes though!). I once took a gold paint pen to a really boring computer monitor and covered it with swirls and polka dots. You can even designate an old T-shirt for altering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008000;\">8. Leave some leprechaun prints all around the house!\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/rockonmommies.com\/rachael\/tag\/leprechaun-crafts\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tutus and Tantrums<\/a> used a Barbie shoe and washable paint to leave these fun little prints!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/rockonmommies.com\/rachael\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RachaelPrestonPeyton-800-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"167\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/rockonmommies.com\/rachael\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/RachaelPrestonPeyton-799-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"164\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">9. Have the kids put on oversized t-shirts and stuff pillows inside so they can sumo wrestle.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 Thanks to a reader at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allfortheboys.com\/home\/2012\/2\/2\/sumo-boys.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">All for the Boys<\/span><\/a> for the fun idea!<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><\/strong><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/media-cdn.pinterest.com\/upload\/167196204885956661_1my2Wgst_f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#800000;\">10. Hide a dozen little notes that say &#8220;Mama loves you&#8221; in unexpected places.\u00a0 And perhaps a couple that say things like, &#8220;Watch out for the chicken behind you&#8221; and random gibberish.\u00a0 I find that a little ridiculous silliness on Mama&#8217;s part keeps kids on their toes!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><em><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\">And with that, my pretties, I&#8217;m off to look for that really big ream of newspaper end paper that I stashed away just for a dreary day like today.\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><em><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\">Have a magical week!<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday!
