{"id":1224,"date":"2010-11-15T07:05:28","date_gmt":"2010-11-15T07:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=1224"},"modified":"2010-11-15T07:05:28","modified_gmt":"2010-11-15T07:05:28","slug":"10-ways-to-make-today-magical-72","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/15\/10-ways-to-make-today-magical-72\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Ways to Make Today Magical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Happy Monday!\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a few magical ways to start the week&#8230;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><strong>1.\u00a0 Head outside for a nature scavenger hunt.\u00a0 If you like, make it an alphabet hunt and try to find items that start with each letter of the alphabet (this little wooly bear caterpillar could count for W!).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1439\/5156395983_4f897a8ef4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Let the kids pick out your clothes for the day and style your hair&#8211; with complete freedom!\u00a0 Go to at least one public place, if possible.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><strong>3.\u00a0 Have the kids draw with markers or crayons just using their feet.\u00a0 It may help to tape down the paper on the floor.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808000;\"><strong>4.\u00a0 Tape a length of string at net level, blow up a balloon, and have a family game of volleyball inside.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><strong>5.\u00a0 Make a felt no-sew playhouse like this one to slip over a card table.\u00a0 Isn&#8217;t it the most fabulous project ever?\u00a0 Hey, even I can tie knots!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 I absolutely love it.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/No-Sew-Playhouse-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\"><strong>6.\u00a0 Plan a talent night one night a week after supper where every family member (yes, you too!) has to do something to entertain the others.\u00a0 If you like, have everybody vote which act was best and use a silly hat as a crown for the nightly winner.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#800000;\">7. Make some photo puppets from toilet paper tubes like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.notimeforflashcards.com\/2010\/11\/paper-roll-puppet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">these<\/a> from No Time for Flashcards.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.notimeforflashcards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/IMG_2491-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#993300;\"><strong>8.\u00a0 Tape strips of crepe paper (or toilet paper) from the ceiling in part of the kids&#8217; room (or the living room!) to make a mini hideaway for a day.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">9.\u00a0 Make some lovely hand and scrunched tissue trees like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.papercraftsforchildren.com\/2010\/05\/07\/hand-and-scrunched-tissue-paper-tree\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this<\/a> from Paper Crafts for Children.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.papercraftsforchildren.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/hand-tissue-tree-251x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\"><strong>10.
