Happy Monday!\u00a0 We’re off to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for some language classes, some time with fun folks and then a science conference for the girls.\u00a0 And since I’m dreadfully behind on getting us out of here, I’m recycling a list from this time last year.\u00a0 I suppose you could call it a “gently used” list….\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Dress the dog up for Halloween and take him on a walk.\u00a0 Count the smiles you get from passers by.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Carve jack-o-lanterns together.\u00a0 If you like, put a different spin on it by carving aliens or monsters like these<\/a>.<\/span>

3.\u00a0 Gather some nice leaves outside and bring them in.\u00a0 Have the kids write messages (inspirational quotes, jokes or just silliness) on the undersides in permanent marker and then return them to the wild.\u00a0 Imagine together what people will think when they find a leaf underfoot that\u2019s speaking to them!<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

4.\u00a0 Gather some old buttons, beads, ribbon and doodads and make homemade necklaces together.\u00a0 Get creative about what you can string \u2014 rocks with holes, bits of broken toys, you name it! <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

5.\u00a0 Smash acorns!\u00a0 Magical Mama Shari says her kids had a blast collecting acorns and smashing them with a hammer.\u00a0 I know my kiddos would love that too.\u00a0 For goodness sakes, make them wear protective eyewear though.\u00a0 \";)\"<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 Get some oranges and cloves and make fabulous pomanders like this guy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

7.\u00a0 Play the sliced banana trick<\/a> on your kids.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

8.\u00a0 Have a laughing contest.\u00a0 Participants can do anything they can think of to make the others laugh. <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

9.\u00a0 Take a cue from these folks<\/a> and work on a really big scale chalk project.\u00a0 Also take a cue and use real chalk pastels instead of cheap sidewalk chalk.\u00a0 Think of the vibrant colors!<\/span>

10. Head outside and leave some natural art<\/a> for folks to discover.<\/span>
