{"id":1166,"date":"2010-10-18T05:09:53","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T05:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.wordpress.com\/?p=1166"},"modified":"2010-10-18T05:09:53","modified_gmt":"2010-10-18T05:09:53","slug":"10-ways-to-make-today-magical-68","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/magicalchildhood.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/18\/10-ways-to-make-today-magical-68\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Ways to Make Today Magical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Happy Monday!\u00a0 Welcome to a whole new week to make some magical memories. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Here&#8217;s a few ideas on how to do that&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">1.\u00a0 Add water balloons to your child&#8217;s bath.\u00a0 No, you don&#8217;t throw them, but they&#8217;re fun to play with!<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#008000;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 Eat <a href=\"almostunschoolers.blogspot.com\/2010\/10\/how-to-make-dragon-snack.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dragons<\/a> for snacks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ff6600;\">3.\u00a0 Carve mini jack-o-lanterns out of orange halves and use for bowls for snacks or desserts.\u00a0 Just cut the oranges in half, eat the oranges out and then have the kids draw pumpkin faces on them.\u00a0 Cut them out with a paring knife, fill the bottom half with something fun, and put the top half back on like a lid.\u00a0<em> (Sorry, I can&#8217;t find any pictures from when we&#8217;ve done this!)<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#993300;\">4. <\/span> <span style=\"color:#800000;\">Jump in leaf piles!\u00a0 Throw them, roll in them, stomp in them and be a total fool in them.\u00a0 No autumn leaves in your part of the world?\u00a0 Make up a whole slew of them from all different kinds of paper and toss them around.\u00a0 Afterwards, use them as window and wall decorations.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#800000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4108\/5091945559_8bc79c065e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#333399;\"><strong>5.\u00a0 Gather together outgrown and extra coats, sweaters and other winter items to donate to clothing drives.\u00a0 Take time together as a family to mend any holes and add some fun decorative accents like big buttons, decorative trim, etc. to make them more special for the recipients.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff00ff;\"><strong>6.\u00a0 Have a pajama party with another mama friend and her kiddos.\u00a0 Everybody camp out in the living room or head home at bedtime.\u00a0 Pop popcorn, watch movies everybody loves, play games and be silly.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#339966;\"><strong>7.\u00a0 Play Musical Costumes.\u00a0 Gather some kiddos and sit in a circle.\u00a0 Fill a bag with all sorts of wacky costume parts (wigs, hats, tutus&#8230;.) and pass it around while playing music.\u00a0 When the music stops, the child with the bag reaches in and grabs something to put on.\u00a0 Keep going until all the costume bits are on the participants! <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:Tahoma;\"><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff9900;\"><strong>8.\u00a0 Serve soup or dinner in a pumpkin.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\"><strong>9. <\/strong><strong>Make homemade dolls.\u00a0 Challenge the kids to be creative and use all sorts of found materials&#8211; acorns, corn husks, socks, tennis balls, scrap material, plastic bottles, spools, you name it.\u00a0 If you have boys who care about feeling manly, call them people instead of dolls.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080;\"><strong>10. <\/strong><strong>Make your own recording of spooky noises to play on Halloween.\u00a0 Have everybody moan, groan, shriek and more.\u00a0 Use it for background noise at supper time and on Halloween night.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color:#000000;\">And with that, my dearies, I&#8217;m off. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Have a magical week!<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday!\u00a0 Welcome to a whole new week to make some magical memories.
