Last week, we stopped in front of the town drugstore to peek at a sidewalk sale going on. I saw a delightfully whimsical watermelon serving dish with a leaf-handled spreading knife and checked the tag — on clearance for $4.99. I have no use for watermelon serving dishes but I loved the look of it….

Acorn Cap + Pen = Instant Fun
We had to kill some time outside with a crowd of antsy kids recently and my ingenious husband whipped up some instant fun to keep them all happy. He grabbed some acorn caps, stuck them on his fingers and on the children’s, and drew some corresponding faces. Presto! Instant finger puppets! Happy Sunday!
You know you’re frazzled when…
We got back from Nebraska last night and I’ve spent the past half of a day unpacking, doing laundry, cleaning and trying my best to catch up on emails, blogs, articles and everything else. Last night I wanted to also catch up on a show that Daryl taped for me while we were gone. I…
Back soon!
I’m so sorry to be gone so long! I’m in Nebraska with Magical Mama Tiffany and her fabulous family, and simply enjoying doing nothing responsible at all. 🙂 I’ll find lots of fun things to post very soon. We should be back Wednesday. See you then!!!!!!!!

We Are That Family
We have new neighbors across the street and I’ve spied a cute little girl who looks about four years old. It will be nice to have more children in the neighborhood, especially since our beloved two-year-old neighbor and her parents moved away last month. We haven’t had a chance to go over and say hi…
Certifiable
When my girls were little, I sometimes came up with creative ways to occupy them when I was sick. Between problem pregnancies and long-term illnesses, I spent a lot of time on the couch with little girls who were not the type to sit still and watch Sesame Street. One of the ways I used…
Life Lessons
Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to argue with a toddler. Sometimes you can try to tell your little one something as patiently as possible, like it’s not going to work to eat your yogurt with that giant spoon with the holes in it honey, it’s just not going to fit. But they just get mad…
