You all know by now how much I love marble runs and such, especially homemade ones. Here’s the granddaddy of them all in my book. He gives all the simple instructions too. Now we have another summer project to add to the list!

Driveway Graffiti
I love this idea from No Time for Flashcards! Brilliant! We’ve mixed up sidewalk paint before and it hasn’t been the biggest hit with any of us, but using balls with it? I love the sounds of it!
Dinner Conversations!
Apparently the link to the dinner conversation starters has been moved. A couple of people asked about it and until I can find its new location or another set, I figured I’d just write up a list of my own. 🙂 Just highlight these and paste them into a word document, print and cut out. …
Manic Milk!
Have you seen this colorful science experiment yet? Two of my friends have recommended it now and I can’t wait to do it with my kiddos. Fun! 🙂 [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPFwDaR1g70&feature=email]
Any Requests?
Eleven year-old Victoria has been having a blast lately making clip art with a free art program we found online. She made all of these little characters… She wants me to let people know that she’s happy to do custom work for free! She already got a request for plant eating dinosaurs and mammoths, leading…
ScrapColoring Pages
I’m loving these online coloring pages! There’s everything from kissing flamingos to knights to mermaids, all with wonderful colors and patterns to fill them with online for free. You can even enter personalized text to color! This is addictive fun, not just for children but for mamas too. 🙂

Five Fun Links
Here’s five fun things we’ve done or want to do soon! 1. This fun alien laundry hamper… 2. Deviled eggboats… 3. Ice cube tray color mixing… 4. Recycled promotional magnets as fridge art from Creative Jewish Mom… 5. These sweet “why I love you” Valentine pillows (or my lazy version!)… What has inspired you lately?
Painting Mommy
Here’s an idea from a reader in the newsletter archives… I often give my kids a bowl with a few squirts of lotion and a paintbrush and tell them to have at it! When they’ve filled their “canvas”, they can just rub it in and start all over!! No pesky decorations to try to remember…
Going Walking
I am inspired by this report (in PDF form) about a nature-based Montessori preschool in Seattle that takes its children on a daily walk every day, rain or shine, for much of the day. Here in Minnesota, we get some pretty brutal weather. That said, when I venture out with my crew we always return…
