Apparently the link to the dinner conversation starters has been moved. A couple of people asked about it and until I can find its new location or another set, I figured I’d just write up a list of my own. 🙂
Just highlight these and paste them into a word document, print and cut out. Why not add some of your own with the kids too?
What’s something you did today that you’re proud of?
If you could be one animal in the zoo, what would you be?
What’s something funny that happened today?
What food would you be happy to never eat again?
Name someone you’ve helped recently.
Would you rather that schools stopped giving out any homework or stopped giving tests?
What’s something nice that happened today?
What do you wish you were better at?
Name three things you’re really good at.
Say something nice about the person to your left.
What famous person would you like to meet and why?
What time period would you visit if you could go back in time?
What do you wish you’d done more of today?
What would your superhero name be?
What movie or TV show would you like to be in?
If you were a food, what food would you be?
If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
There’s a good start. Now you, dear readers, add some of your own in the comments!
Happy weekend!
Would you rather be a land animal or a water animal?
If you could have a store, what would you sell there? What would your store look like?
What would the most beautiful ball gown in the world look like?
How would things be different if we had no electricity?
If you could give a gift to (person on your right), and money were no object, what would you give?
What would you most like to write a poem or a song about?
What book would you like to be in?
Our family goes CRAZY for dinner games… have you seen the UNGAME? I found mine at Goodwill for a buck. I think you’d love it! It’s all about self expression. Your questions are great! Also— have you checked out the Would YOU Rather book series for kids? Another terrific choice for dinner questions (if you don’t easily get grossed out.) I can only imagine our kids at dinner together… nothing but smiles and laughter.
For some reason my kids have all been doing this game where you come up with two really awful alternatives that someone has to choose from, like “would you rather eat an ant pie or a salt pie”, or “would you rather be eaten by a huge spider or a shark”. They really agonize over the answers, although you’re technically allowed to say “neither” if you just can’t handle it. I don’t know where this game came from, or why it remains so popular, but they keep it going all day.
