In honor of what would be Dr. Seuss’s 106th birthday today, here’s an assortment of his quotes. He was a wise man!
- “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
- “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.”
- “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
- “Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.”
- “Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them.”
- “We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
- “And the turtles, of course…all the turtles are free, as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be.”
- “They say I’m old-fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast! “
- “Think and wonder, wonder and think.”
- “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
How wonderful! Really makes me smile.
Awesome! Thanks, Alicia!! 😀
Love them–especially the final one. Might be lifting that for a new signature quote. Any idea what book it’s from?
I have no idea, Risa. I’ve loved that quote for years and first saw it on a plaque at a hospital gift shop. I never knew who said it until just recently. It doesn’t sound like it’s from one of his children’s books and I wonder if it is from something else he wrote or from an interview.
I get so much good advice from that guy. 🙂 He really had a way with words (and nonsense!).
What great quotes!
