My paid account at Live Journal is expiring today and I’m toying with the idea of moving to Blogger. Someone has registered magicalchildhood over there but I snagged magical-childhood in case I decided to relocate.
Many of you have commented that you don’t like Live Journal. Any opinions one way or another? It’s my understanding that if I don’t pay for another membership I’ll have ads, which I do not like. I’ve always been adamant about keeping magicalchildhood.com ad-free and would like the same for the blog (especially if they’re earning someone else money! G). I also wouldn’t get to play with so many themes, which was always fun for me. 😉
I’m on the fence. What do you all think?!
moving
I’m not a huge fan of Live Journal, but I DESPISE ads. So for me, not having ads would be the top priority.
wordpress
i HIGHLY recommend wordpress. i don’t know anything about their hosted blogs(you may want to look into that too), but i installed wordpress on my own webspace and LOVE it. its super easy and there’s a ton of great free templates available online. and no ads if you host it yourself.
if you already have a host for your site magicalchildhood.com, you may already have access to installing wordpress via your control panel there.
let me know if you have any questions.
i do also use blogger, and like that too. 🙂
WordPress
I’ve used and liked blogger, but I recently moved over to WordPress and am liking that, too. It’s still new to me, so I’m learning about all the great add-ons and plug-ins that can be used. Good stuff 🙂 I run it on my own site, so there are no ads. Domain names aren’t terribly expensive, and hosting can be downright cheap (I can point you in a good direction 🙂
