We have a new little tradition at our house.
This little bird.
He has little wire feet that help him perch all over the house.
I move him every day and the kids see if they can spot his new location.
We do the same thing outside in nice weather, with some colorful ceramic toadstools that move all around the yard. But those are covered in several feet of snow right now.
I kind of like the cheerfulness of perching our little bird in various spots around the house! If you happen to find a cute little faux bird somewhere, I highly recommend it!
Happy Friday!
Great idea! It’s the small one’s my children love! Thank you
My Girl Scouts loved to play this game when they were younger. I found the directions in a book of games or on-line; in the description it’s called “Huckle Buckle Bean Stalk”, which is what they are supposed to say when they spot the hidden object. They are supposed to say this WITHOUT indicating where the object is, which is the funniest part. They couldn’t do it! They always got so excited they would point and jump up and down!! Good memories. 🙂
Great idea 🙂
I used to do a version of this with my brother when we were kids. If my Mom made brownies, there was inevitably one left that everyone wanted. So it was wrapped up in plastic and hidden in the fridge. Whoever found it could either eat it or hide it again for another to find. My brother got so caught up with this game of “I can hide it better than you can” that those poor brownies would be hard as rocks by the time anyone wanted to eat them 😀
It was silly, but a great game 😉
What a fun idea!
that’s a beutiful tradition I’m going to get me a birdie.
So fun — like our Elf on the Shelf at holiday time but year round — such a fun childhood memory you’re making for your kids!!
Congrats on the newest family member to be : )
I love this idea so much. When my son is older we will definitely be doing it.
It sort of reminds me of what they do at Trader Joe’s – they have their little penguin (Chilly?) hidden somewhere in the store so kids can look for him as their parents shop. It keeps them busy during an otherwise dull task.
what a great idea!! Thank you.
