I’m not sure why winter is getting to me
so much this year.
Maybe because we’ve had
SO MUCH SNOW
or maybe it’s just an odd year.
It’s been bitterly cold here —
too cold to even venture out most days–
so today I seized the tropical temperatures
of 30 degrees
and hauled the kids outside
like it or not.
Alex is not always a fan of time outside
And the others were not wild about the idea either
but soon snowballs were flying
and forts were being build like mad.
And then everybody was having fun
and I was the one wishing we could
just go inside already.
And okay, I guess I can see a little fun
in all this cold and white.
After all, what fun would spring be
if it was easy to come by?
Enjoy the weather
no matter what type you’re blessed with this week.
But if you happen to live someplace warm and sunny
please enjoy it a little extra for me!
Happy Thursday!
Wonderful pictures! Can’t wait for Spring!!!!
Thanks! And perhaps we need a countdown. We could do something magical and winter-themed each day till it gets here…. ๐
I can imagine that too much snow gets old. Where we live, we just get lots and lots of rain and grey so I miss the sun and would love some snow here and there. The sun did come say hello for a bit today so that was wonderful! Looks like your kids are having fun! ๐
I wish we could ship some snow out and spread the wealth. ๐ I’m sure the grey gets old! Here in the winter it’s often all white or all gray — the sky looks white and gray and the snow is white and the trees are just black skeletons, so it really looks as if the world is black and white sometimes. There’s a beauty in it, but not for 4 months straight! When the sun comes out it’s all good though. And yes, the kids had a ball!
Wow! I give you a lot of credit for going out in 30 degree weather! You’re so right about spring being that much sweeter because you’ve braved the chilly winter months. Enjoy!
Oh, 30 is hot compared to what we’ve had! It was in the zeros for the longest time that it feels warm in comparison. At 35 we’re in short sleeves.
I second that! We came home from celebrations with family to ice dams so bad it was raining in our house. Yikes!
I am dreaming of sun and warmth and beaches….while I get ready to go sledding with my kiddos. ๐
Yes, you can see our ice dams on our roof. Yikes on the rain inside! I hope you had fun sledding anyway. ๐
Ooooh, I’m having a REAL hard time enjoying our weather. We’ve had a layer of snow that got all tramped down, then half-melted and then refroze to become extremely slippery… I’ve only dared venture out past our garden once this week because I had an appointment with the midwife, but otherwise even the garden shed seems like a suicide mission!
We’re enjoying the inside instead. Maybe I’ll make a snowglobe…
Ooh, that sounds tricky! I like the snowglobe idea too. ๐
Happy thursday:) I am going to take your advice and enjoy the weather today, even though its about 41C (105 F)….the snow looks beautiful, from down here where there never is any and its never that cold! Enjoy your day and the new year comming in:)
Oh, I wish we could swap for just a few days. ๐ Enjoy the day! Happy New Year too!
We are expecting 37ยฐC ( 98.6 F ) and thunderstorms today – happy to swap you for some snow! Keeping the kids inside in the airconditioning and have decided we’re going through the toy cupboard to see what we can donate to the Queensland (Australia) flood victims.
